Dr. Omid Shafiey earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree from the University of Tabriz in 1997 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D) from the University of British Columbia in 2010. He is interested in all aspects of dentistry, in particular how dentistry can affect a patient’s comfort and experience. Dr. Shafiey is perhaps best acknowledged for his ability to promote proper dental care and hygiene by allaying patient’s dental-related fears and anxieties. He is passionate about dentistry and has committed himself to excellence and leadership, and prides himself on being a quality practitioner.

Dr. Shafiey has continuous education training in various aspects in dentistry including root canal treatments, cosmetic dentistry, and dental implants. He studied Implant Dentistry at the Ickert Implant Centre and continues to devote many hours to improving his knowledge of techniques and technologies in dentistry.

He has passed his sedation study in DOCS Education Institute in San Diego, California and he is committed to providing gentle and compassionate dental care in an anxiety-free environment. He is also a certified Botox provider in cosmetics and TMJ therapy, an Invisalign Gold Provider, and he is a member of Align Technology.

Dr. Shafiey is an active member of Canadian Dental Association (CDA), British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA), College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Docs Education, and Align Tech Institute.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, capturing special moments through photography, skiing, soccer, and swimming.

Dr. Omid Kia has been practising dentistry since graduating in 1999 from Shahed University in Tehran, Iran. In 2013, he moved to Vancouver and became licensed to practice dentistry from the National Dental Examination Board of Canada. With more than 18 years of experience, Dr. Kia is committed to providing the care necessary for his patients. He continues to dedicate his time to professional development and improving his knowledge of dental practices and technology. Dr. Kia has completed several postdoctoral courses in dental implants, endodontics, and laser dentistry. Dr. Kia enjoys spending time with his wife and their little girl, Nikki. He also has a deep passion for reading literature and writing.

Dr. Sarabjit Kaur’s professional career started with completing her dental education and training in 2007. Her academic career has been highlighted with numerous awards and distinctions. After working for several years in India she moved to Canada and is now a registered member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC & Canadian Dental Association.

Dr. Kaur believes in providing gentle and stress-free dental care for all members of the family. Her practice philosophy is to provide the necessary treatment for her patients in a comprehensive, conservative, and comfortable manner. She is dedicated to providing care, and works closely with patients to provide a treatment for each and every patient’s individual needs. She prides herself on being a lifetime learner and enjoys attending courses, study clubs and seminars to keep her knowledge current.

When not in scrubs, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, working out, watching movies and exploring the lower mainland.

Dr. Fatemeh Mortazavi Alavi completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Concordia University and obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from McGill University in 2020.

She started working as a General Dentist in Toronto in 2020 and eventually moved to Vancouver.

She is a member of the college of dental surgeons of BC (CDSBC) and the British Columbia dental association (BCDA).

She is fluent in English and Farsi.

Her dental philosophy is centered around quality care that relies on patient education, open communication. She enjoys working with all patients, especially kids, and uses her gentle personality to help ease dental anxiety.

Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking, cooking and watching documentaries.

Dr. Nasir is dedicated and passionate about dentistry, and about providing gentle care. He has been practicing dentistry since 2002 when he graduated from Guilan University’s Dental program, he practiced dentistry for two years and then started his 3 years postgraduate degree in Prosthodontics. He earned his certificate of National Dental Examination Board of Canada in 2013. He also completed various advanced level of implant dentistry (ICOI Fellowship) and served as Assistant Professor at Azad Dental University of Tehran. Dr. Nasir provides general dentistry services in Cosmetic, Prosthetic (crowns and partial or complete dentures), Dental Implants, Endodontic, and Oral Surgery. His continuing education focus is always to work on the delivery of dental care for his patients. Away from dentistry, Dr. Nasir likes to spend time with his family and enjoys exercising and snowboarding

Dr. Saharsh grew up in India where he graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Gujarat University in 2014. After Practicing General Dentistry in India, he moved to Canada in 2016 and got his dental license by clearing NDEB exams. Dr. Saharsh practices all aspects of dentistry, but his special interest is in Restorative Dentistry and in Surgical Dentistry. To provide the highest level of dental care Dr. Saharsh continues to take education courses to learn about new dental techniques.

Dr. Saharsh is dedicated to satisfying his patients’ needs and concerns and strives to provide his patients with the health and aesthetics of a great-looking smile. He is a member of the British Columbia Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association. In his free time, Dr. Saharsh enjoys several outdoor activities with friends and family.

Since moving to Canada in 2016, British Columbia has quickly become a place to call home for Priya. Priya completed her Dentistry in India and her dental hygiene program in Vancouver, BC. Her experience in dentistry from her home country, supported by her education in Canada, helps her work alongside patients in a collaborative effort to achieve and maintain healthy gums and teeth. Her priority is to ensure all her patients leave her chair feeling taken care of and confident in their ability to attend to their oral self-care needs at home. She hopes she can help patients with dental anxiety feel more at ease in the chair. In her spare time, Priya loves spending time with her family and nature. Priya looks forward to meeting you and your family at Guildford Town Centre Dental!

Melorie has been with Guildford Town Centre Dental since March 2015. She is thrilled to be part of a team that strives for care with each individual patient. She brings a very outgoing personality to appointments and loves getting to know you! She treats all patients based on their individual needs and feels that it is important to establish a rapport, giving you the confidence you need for us to work together to better your dental health.

Melorie graduated from the Canadian Academy of Dental Hygiene in July 2014.

When she is not at Guildford Town Centre Dental you can catch her at the gym, doing yoga or hiking our beautiful mountains. She loves to catch up on a great book or spend time learning new things. Melorie looks forward to meeting you and your family at your next appointment together!

Ashley graduated from the University of British Columbia in April 2022 with a Dental Science Degree: BDSc (DH). She studied at the state-of-the-art Nobel Biocare Oral Health Centre and was instructed by highly qualified professors. She was awarded the College of Dental Hygienists of BC Gold Medal for obtaining the highest academic standing. She is also the author of a children’s dental book. Her interests are writing, playing the piano, and modelling in her spare time.

As a Dental Hygiene Practitioner Ashley believes in providing evidence-based care and wants to inspire her patients so they leave the dental office feeling empowered about their oral health.
